Two Guitars. Intermezzi in between Bellini's transcriptions.

We find a sort of dissonance in the approach of these two words: “pirate” and “intermezzo”.
In fact no pirate would have been happy to be considered an interlude, so the actual nature of this music must be revealed: yes they were firstly meant for the empty spaces between other pieces, to freely navigate the concert, but they gradually also became compositions in their own right, as “encores”, seafaring and piratesque tales of unexplored lands.
In this spirit will then be performed, enjoying paradox and virtuosity, sometimes with a little of humor and always with deep affection for his own instrument, so as to play it straight, upside down, or in any way the invention could have imagined. mp
Vi è un certo sapore dissonante nell’accostamento di “pirata” ed “intermezzo”. In effetti nessun pirata si sarebbe mai accontentato di una parte intermedia, quindi è meglio svelare la vera natura che queste brevi composizioni hanno assunto durante la loro composizione: in principio erano sì pensati per lo spazio vuoto tra un pezzo e l’altro, per percorrere e navigare il concerto separando le musiche che al suo interno si susseguono, ma a poco a poco hanno anche acquistato il sapore di brani a sè, come bis o racconti -marinari e pirateschi appunto- di terre inesplorate.
Con questo spirito andranno quindi eseguiti, con un certo amore per il paradosso e per il virtuosismo, a tratti con un po’ di ironia e sempre con profondo affetto per il proprio strumento, tanto da suonarlo dritto, al rovescio, o in qualsiasi modo l’invenzione possa averlo immaginato.
