Questa sera alle 21 su Radio Voce della Speranza, parleremo di Bert Jansch, chitarrista scozzese, dedito soprattutto alla musica folk e al blues. È stato membro fondatore dei Pentangle. Negli anni sessanta ha subito l'influenza del chitarrista Davey Graham e della cantante folk Anne Briggs. È conosciuto soprattutto per l'innovativo stile chitarristico, ma è anche cantante e cantautore. Ma Jansch è molto di più: è una vera leggenda che ha ispirato legioni di chitarristi. Rendiamogli un giusto omaggio.

This evening at 9 PM on Radio Voce della Speranza we will talk about Bert Jansch, a Scottish guitarist, one of the giants of the british folk music and the blues. He was a founding member of Pentangle. In the sixties, has been influenced by the guitarist Davey Graham and folk singer Anne Briggs. He is best known for his innovative guitar style, but is also a singer and songwriter. But Jansch is much more: he is a true legend who has inspired legions of guitarists. Let's make him a fitting tribute.

Bert Jansch - 60th Birthday Concert (full video)

Bert Jansch, legendary songwriter and guitarist, is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential musicians of all time. Since the mid-1960s, generation after generation have been held spellbound by his extraordinary groundbreaking acoustic guitar playing and classic emotive songs. Jimmy Page, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Johnny Marr, Bernard Butler and Beth Orton have all been devotees, and further generations, led by Devendra Banhart and Pete Doherty, are still discovering Jansch for themselves.


Filmed at LSO St Luke's in East London to celebrate his 60th birthday, this concert features many of the songs that Bert has played throughout his career, including Davy Graham's Anji, Jackson C Frank's Blues Run The Game and traditional songs like Blackwaterside, together with more recent songs like Riverbank and Crimson Moon.
